About Greenside Up

Created by Dee & Ian Sewell, Greenside Up is based near Old Leighlin in County Carlow.

They have been growing fruit & vegetables for their family for several years, extending their own garden to include many individual fruit & vegetable beds and an 8m x 4m polytunnel.

Dee is a qualified Horticulturist with work experience in an award winning Garden Centre.

Ian is an experienced & qualified Arboriculturist who specialises in all types of trees.

Over the years they realised that there was very little help available to new gardeners & in particular those wishing to grow their own. They feel it’s a life skill that’s being lost.

Ian & Dee are keen to share their expertise & knowledge with others.

What Does the Green Mean in Greenside Up?

A commitment to recognise the importance of protecting our environment, and helping others do likewise, is an integral part of our business ethos.

Without compromising on customer service, all course notes will initially be offered by electronic mail and in the event that we have to print, we will endeavour to use paper that has been sourced from sustainable forests or recycled.

We actively promote vegetable gardening without the use of artificial chemicals, and positively encourage wildlife into gardens.

We encourage and advise customers on how to reduce their landfill and food waste by composting and recycling.

We’re not perfect but we do our best.
