I work from my home in Callan, Co Kilkenny. I started selling my plaques at the local carboot sale and soon they became popular ... I have since sold them at different Shopping Centres in the southeast and various summer shows. I get many orders by phone from people who have received them as gifts and want more for themselves, relatives and friends. The nameplaques are all hand made and painted by myself; the lettering is made from salt dough on a pine board, and they are then hand painted and sprayed with lacquer to preserve and protect them, SMALL PLAQUES - €10 each + p&p: click to enlarge
About the Plaques The lettering is made from Salt dough, which is a mixture of salt, flour and water. The lettering is placed on the wooden plaque and baked in the oven on a low heat for approximately 24 hours. They are then hand painted (to your requirement) and then sprayed with 7 coats of lacquer. There is a picture hook on the top of the plaque for hanging the plaque on your door or wall. MEDIUM PLAQUES - €13 each + p&p: click to enlarge
When Ordering When ordering your plaque please have a good look at what size you want. Make sure your name will fit on that size. Double names will have to go on the large one: if unsure, please give me a ring. Decide what you would like on it - for boys you can choose footballs, hurleys (with or without county bands), rugby balls, butterflies, or tractor & trailer (tractor only on the small plaque). Girls usually like the butterflies and ladybirds. You may choose any colour you wish: if you don't specify, they will be done in multi colours for the boys and purple / pink / lilac for the girls.
